The GameFi platform leads gamers and investors to the game and teaches users how to ‘Play for Fun and Earn’.

In the mid of 2022 ...
GASH wanted to build the Web 3 business, so the COO acted as the head and recruit the team from our company.I was chosen as the lead designer of the blockchain team to help facilitate the design.
Blockchain as service - Our business goal
"The Game is bugged" is a well-known mobile game in South Korea. GASH has collaborated with the game to create an exciting blockchain gaming universe and create a platform to make things happen.
How we get started?
To understand the trend and best practices, I did the desk research of the competitors of GameFi industry. Also, I collaborated closely with operating team, marketing team and tech team to find the problem we need to fix first. The following issues were what we found:

✍️ Lack of instructions / too many regulations
✍️ Lots of fraud in the market
How can we meet the needs of users with different blockchain knowledge by one design?
Design Process
To facilitate our solutions deeply, we use User-centric design principle to help our design process with cross-teams.
To meet the user's and product goal...

1. Clear information and instruction

Allow existing game players to participate in the "The Game is bugged Re:”, attempting to enable players to enjoy the game while understanding the blockchain technology and concepts that allow them to earn rewards.

2. Minimize excessive information

To avoid displaying too much information and knowledge about GameFi, which can distract experienced investors with unnecessary information, complex pages will be designed using a condensed format.

3. Secure GameFi platform

For ordinary players, blockchain-related products bring insecurity because of less usage and payment on blockchain platforms. Therefore, we must ensure that the platform provides players with enough guidance to expect that the next step they click on is safe.

The following are the design principles that were followed when producing the blockchain gaming platform:

Clear information and instruction

Hierarchy between sections
To ensure that both beginners and experienced users can access the information they need, we organized the content on the homepage in a way that maximizes the effectiveness of each section.
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Guide newcomers through each step, allowing them to earn while playing. Utilize step-by-step instructions to replace extensive tutorials. Experienced players can also take immediate action by clicking on actions directly.

2.
Minimize excessive information

Purchase process sorting
In the platform, users can purchase various items using different currencies. To offer users flexible options among multiple currencies, I've listed out various scenarios, enhancing the experience while reducing communication costs between PMs and engineers.
Information sorting
Visualize excessive information and regulations to reduce user cognitive load, and organize the content to decrease visual clutter on the main pages.

Secure GameFi platform

Clear next step
To ensure users can operate and transact on the platform with confidence, provide clear action prompts and real-time feedback on status.

Design System

This project marks the first platform for our company's blockchain initiative. To ensure efficient management and leverage experiences for future products, I collaborated with frontend and backend engineers to create a design system. We decomposed components for easier future use.
Impact

This project laid the foundation for subsequent products. In addition to this 0-1 platform, two other products also utilized related modules. Through collaboration with engineers, we established a design system to enhance the efficiency of future development. As blockchain is a new area for the company, we quickly prototyped for user testing and iterated to better align with the operational modes of both types of users.
